Situated in the heart of the country but not too far from the coast, Casa San Ambrosio is the ideal location for peace and quiet in the middle of the summer season. The picturesque historic white village of Vejer is only a 5 minute drive away, the lively seaside towns of Barbate (10km) and Conil (14km) are within easy reach by car. The small hamlet of San Ambrosio, which has two country pubs, is within walking distance. There are many local beaches: some are bustling with hip bars and stalls, others are suited to families, there are spots for surfers and quieter locations for those who like the wild natural beauty of unspoilt coastline. All are within 15 minutes drive away. However the connecting roads are untarmaced country lanes, this has the advantage of deterring traffic in the summer months, but visitors are warned that the roads can be dusty and bumpy!!
The house is surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, with plenty of space for children to run about and explore. Situated on a gentle rise the house overlooks the pine forests of the natural park and in the distance past rolling hills, you can see the coastline. The building is approximately 125m², with attractive natural stone and wooden beams. It has two storeys and accommodates a maximum of 6 people. There is a spacious L-shaped open-plan kitchen/dining-living room area leading onto south and east facing patios. There is also a bathroom and downstairs bedroom. Upstairs there are two cosy attic bedrooms and a small wc. There are stunning views from every window.
The water is supplied by a well. This is perfect for washing and rinsing, but due to its high mineral content, we advise all guests to use bottled water for consumption. The house is run on solar power. This is sufficient for all the domestic appliances installed in the house, including the cooker, washing machine, fridge, television etc. However, as the system has been carefully designed to accommodate a certain output, we request that you check with us before using any additional devices. Hair-dryers or irons, for example, are not compatible.
The house is only available for rent over the summer months. As this is our family home and as for the past three years have decided to stay in the area over the summer, we haven´t rented it out recently. For this reason we don´t have any up-to-date reviews! However we are happy to provide you with any extra information you may need and there is a house guide and information pack available on arrival.
