"Feria" Festival Conil 2014



The most beautiful and biggest festival of the year - the Feriain Conil 2014 - will be held from September 5 - 8. For the locals this is the most important party event of the year. People get dressed in the traditional Andalusian way. Everywhere you see women in rushing, colored dresses and Spanish men on horseback with their traditional riding dresses and charcateristic hats.

 

The Feria festival exists since the middle of the 19th Century and you find it in all Spain. In Conil de la Frontera the Feria is dedicated to Patron Saint of the city - the "Virgen de las Virtudes". In her owner there is a procession that passes the image of the Virgin through the streets of the city.

The old city center will be crowded with people and around the ancient tower, the "Torre de Guzmán" will be setted up a craft market and everywhere you find a great gastronomical offer, so, that you can try out the tastes of the regional specialities.

 

When the night falls, everybody go to the large party tents, the "Casetas", where the pepole dance, laugh - make party. You will need stamina if you want to see the end of the Feria - because the party lasts until the wee hours.
