Chiclana de la Frontera, just like the rest of Andalusia, has a very busy event calender to offer. The Easter Week and Carneval are just two of the important dates in La Barrosa and Chiclana.

The biggest celebration in Chiclana is the Semana Santa, the Easter week. Religious processions attract mostly Spanish visitors to Chiclana and La Barrosa in this period.

Apart from Easter, you can discover some fantastic events like the Romeria de San Jose or the night of Juan and Juana which is the night that welcomes the summer.

And of course Carneval time when the entire village dresses fancy and parties.

Carneval (end of february / beginning of march)	Carneval has a long tradition in the province of Cadiz and in Chiclana. The people like to masquerade themselfs while they listen to the carneval groups in the streets singing satyric verses about politics and society. At Carneval Sunday the large procession takes place, so the entire town is on the streets.
Semana Santa (Easter Week) (march or april)	The Semana Santa is the most important religious event of the year in Spain. Chiclana fills up with visitors during this week admiring the detailed processions through town acompanied with traditional Easter music. At this time of the year you can already feel the summer arriving to Chiclana. Apart from the ceremonies there's also the beach to enjoy.
Feria of Chiclana (Fair) (13 of june for 1 week)	The Chiclana Fair begins with the holiday of San Antonio (13 of june) and forms one of the most important party dates in the Chiclana calendar. Andalusian tradition and spirit is everywhere: Flamenco and Sevillanas Music, food, Sherry, the typical fair-dresses for women and men... for one week Chiclana will be partiing day and night.
Fires of Juan and Juana 23 of june	The party to celebrate the arrival of summer. At midnight they burn paper statues on the Plaza de Chiclana and then everyone has a big party.
Romería de la Virgen del Carmen Atunera (16 of july)	Party for the patrona of the fishermen in Chiclana. On this day they carry the statue of the Virgen del Carmen to the Port of Sancti Petri and take her out onto the sea in a boat. Many other boats are following the virgin to a place called Caño de Sancti Petri on the beach Playa La Barrosa.

Day of the patron saint of Chiclana - Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios (8 of september)	Chiclana celebrates this day in honour of its patrona,  La Señora de Los Remedios. huge procession from the church of San Telmo with flowers and decorations.
Todos los Santos ("All the saints") 1 of november	This event takes place on the markets where they decorate their booths traditionally with rabbits, fish or chicken. A typical sweet for this day are the so called "bones of the saints".
